The Ukrainian Master

Arsenal defender William Saliba has now provided an insight into what working with Oleksandr Zinchenko is like on a day-to-day basis.

William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko have shared the pitch for Arsenal many times.

There is certainly an argument that Mikel Arteta’s first-choice back four includes both the French centre-back and the Ukrainian left-back. However, Zinchenko now faces a fight to get his Arsenal starting berth back due to the form of Jakub Kiwior. The former Manchester City man may well have slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium somewhat.

Is Oleksandr Zinchenko still important to Mikel Arteta and Arsenal?
Zinchenko is still an important member of this Arsenal squad, though. His quality on the ball, and what he brings to the team going forward cannot be overlooked. The 27-year-old is a brilliant passer of the ball, and lends so much creativity to the team. He is also tactically important, as he naturally inverts from his left-back position. This means that he habitually drifts into the middle of the park, where he can act as an auxiliary playmaker of sorts.

In his absence, Ben White has been tasked with replicating Zinchenko’s tactical role from right-back, as Kiwior has struggled to adopt the inverted instruction. Given Zinchenko can be something of a defensive liability, and the Gunners have looked so impressive at both ends of the pitch with both White and Kiwior on the field, Arteta may be guiding his team in a direction that makes them less reliant upon the 59-cap Ukraine international. Given Zinchenko’s persistent injury concerns, it may be wise for the Spanish coach to reduce his reliance upon the player in any case.

However, Zinchenko is still a key figure in the Arsenal dressing room. Saliba has now shed some light on what kind of a character the full-back is behind the scenes at the Emirates Stadium.

What is Oleksandr Zinchenko really like?
When asked in an interview with Stadium Astro who the biggest prankster in the Arsenal squad is, the 22-year-old named Zinchenko. Gabriel Magalhaes concurred with this choice. Saliba then noted that Zinchenko “does everything. Jokes, he talks a lot…he’s so funny…a good person.”

The importance of squad harmony and a happy dressing room cannot be overstated, and Zinchenko clearly does his bit to lift the mood at Arsenal. This will become even more important in the coming weeks, as the pressure will ramp up on the north London club as the Premier League title race intensifies.

Real Madrid’s Bellingham ‘OK’ for Barcelona match Saturday

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said star midfielder Jude Bellingham is “OK” after being substituted in the 89th minute of their 2-1 Champions League win at Braga on Tuesday night.

Bellingham scored Madrid’s second goal of the night to help seal a win that keeps them perfect on nine points atop Group C through three games ahead of Saturday’s Clasico against Barcelona in LaLiga.

“He is OK,” Ancelotti said when asked why Bellingham had been substituted. “His adductors are a bit charged because the pitch was a bit soft. But nothing special. He will recover. He is OK. He is a bit tired, like everybody else. But that’s normal.”

Rodrygo put Madrid ahead in the 16th minute with a shot from inside the area — his first goal since August — after a run by Vinícius Júnior down the left flank, and Bellingham added to the lead in the 61st with a low shot into the far corner.

“It’s normal to suffer a little in away matches,” said Vinícius, who assisted on Bellingham’s goal. “But we played well and scored the goals with the chances we created. And could’ve scored even more. We have to keep this run going after having won the first three matches.”

The 20-year-old Bellingham has not gone consecutive games without scoring for Madrid. The Englishman has scored in each of the first three matchday’s in the Champions League for the second season in a row, after doing the same with Borussia Dortmund in 2022-23.

He controlled the pace of the game at midfield to help Madrid dominate early. Braga, which had won five in a row in all competitions, didn’t have any attempts on target in the first half.

The LaLiga leaders will now prepare for their first match against Barcelona this season, with Madrid sitting one point ahead of the Catalans after 10 matches played.

“I have a clear idea,” Ancelotti said about Madrid’s approach for Saturday’s game. “After this game, it is pretty clear what we want to do. And that is to try to win. To do all we can to try to win. We have time to prepare. Today I changed the line-up a bit, because some players were a bit sore. [David] Alaba is back from an injury.

“The same for [Ferland] Mendy. It could have been risky, but the substitute players did very well. I liked a lot [Eduardo] Camavinga as a pivot. He played a great game. We will arrive in great spirits at this next important match.”

Perez is Angry

Perez disappointed with Real Madrid star, wants him sold

By Brown Tsuma

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly willing to sell David Alaba if Los Blancos receive an offer of around €40 million next year for the defender.

According to El Nacional, Real Madrid are not happy with Alaba’s irregular performances this season and Perez in particular is apparently very disappointed with the Austrian international and wants to sell him.

Alaba joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich on a free transfer in 2021.

Arguably one of his worst performances with Real Madrid came in the 3-1 La Liga derby defeat against Atletico Madrid last month.

Alaba, a utility player, has played 94 matches across competitions since moving to Real Madrid.

His contract with Real Madrid will expire in the summer of 2025.

However, it remains to be seen if any team comes forward with a favorable offer to sign the 31-year-old.

Unai Emery ready to raid former club Arsenal to complete transfer for forgotten man

Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery is plotting a move for Gunners fringe player Nuno Tavares as the Aston Villa boss aims to strengthen his options at left-back this season
• By:Brown Tsuma

Ex-Arsenal boss Unai Emery is thought to be preparing a bid for Gunners outcast Nuno Tavares this summer as the left-back looks set to head for the Emirates exit door this summer.

Tavares was signed by Emery’s successor Mikel Arteta in the summer of 2021, but enjoyed just one season in the red and white of Arsenal before he was sent out on loan to French side Marseille for the entirety of last term. Despite clearly not being thought of particularly highly by the Gunners hierarchy, Emery is keen on bringing the defender to Aston Villa before the window closes.

Villa’s current full-back options make for bleak reading given Alex Moreno remains sidelined with injury while Lucas Digne looks set for a move to Saudi Arabia. The Midlands-based side had also been keeping tabs on Sevilla ace Marcus Acuna, but agreeing personal terms is proving difficult.

As a result, Emery’s attentions have turned to Tavares, who is well down the pecking order of left-backs at Arsenal. The former Benfica man is unlikely to get much game time in north London this term with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney and Takeiro Tomiyasu all above him in Arteta’s view.

Rio Ferdinand makes Arsenal title prediction after bold Gunners transfer claim

Nottingham Forest were expected to lodge an official bid for the 23-year-old but personal terms scuppered that deal and Tavares is now exploring other options, including Villa.

The defender hasn’t always been the most measured and has often been prone to a temper tantrum. Last season, he came under fire from his then-Marseille boss Igor Tudor for making an obscene gesture at rival fans.

“He’s lost his mind, he’s going to get a nice fine,” Tudor told Amazon France. “It can happen, but he’s going to be fined, because it will penalise us in the future. We are lucky that it went well at the end of the match.”

Tavares has also lost his cool at times while at Arsenal, most notably when he threw his gloves to the ground in anger after being substituted inside the first-half during an FA Cup defeat away at Nottingham Forest

Women’s World Cup Champions

Spain’s Women’s World Cup controversy explained: Why coach Jorge Vilda is under fire despite winning title

By Brown Tsuma

Spain won their first Women’s World Cup final vs. England on Sunday 1-0 but did it without a handful of top players because of an ongoing protest against the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

In September 2022, 15 players sent the federation separate but identical emails asking not to be called up to the national team, citing a lack of professionalism that each player wrote had an “important effect on my emotional state and by extension my health.” They demanded “a clear commitment to a professional project with attention paid to all the aspects needed to get the best performance of this group of players” in the email.

The 15 players were Aitana Bonmati, Mariona Caldentey, Ona Batlle, Patri Guijarro, Mapi Leon, Sandra Panos, Claudia Pina, Lola Gallardo, Ainhoa Moraza, Nerea Eizagirre, Amaiur Sarriegi, Lucia Garcia, Leila Ouahabi, Laia Aleixandri and Andrea Pereira. Three additional players who did not send emails voiced their support for the others: Alexia Putellas, Jennifer Hermoso, and captain Irene Paredes.

Gremio midfielder Bitello is reportedly a target for Arsenal during the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta’s side have already splashed over £200million this summer to sign Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice as the Spaniard looks to close the gap on current Premier League champions Manchester City.

Reports have stated that the Gunners are looking to sign another midfielder, a new right-back and goalkeeper before the transfer window closes. Arsenal are currently focused on selling a number of fringe players to raise funds for further investment in new signings.

Arteta was asked about the state of his squad ahead of the Gunners’ FA Community Shield clash against Manchester City on Sunday, to which he responded: “We are in the process. We are working on a few things and we have to make a few decisions.

“There’s still time. We are very happy with the squad, that’s for sure.”

Arsenal submitted a £23million proposal to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya on Thursday evening – with the Spaniard wanting to secure a move to the Emirates Stadium. Whilst Brentford are expected to reject this offer, an agreement is said to be likely with Arteta pushing to complete his fourth deal of the summer.

Meanwhile, it seems that the Gunners have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Bitello following Gremio president Antonio Brum’s latest comments on the Brazilian’s future. “We received numerous queries for Bitello, but the new official proposal has none,” Brum told Trivela, via Evening Standard.

“We know that it may end up arriving this window extension time that we have. I can’t guarantee that he won’t leave or stay until the end of the year, that depends a lot on what kind of proposal will arrive, what type will arrive and what values can reach.”

Uefa Decides

Juventus are kicked out of Europa Conference League by Uefa for breaching FFP rules

Juventus have been kicked out of this season’s Europa Conference League by Uefa and fined for breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

European football’s governing body has also fined Chelsea for breaching FFP rules as a result of “submitting incomplete financial information”.

Uefa says the matter relates to transactions which took place between 2012 and 2019.

Juventus have been fined £17.14m, while Chelsea have been fined £8.57m.

The Italian club will only have to pay half of their fine if their financial records for the next three years comply with regulations, while Chelsea have already agreed to pay the settlement figure.

The Blues have spent around £600m on 19 new players since new owner Todd Boehly took charge of the club in May 2022, but their fine relates to a seven-year period while Roman Abramovich had control of the club.

Uefa said: “Following the club’s sale in May 2022, the new ownership identified, and proactively reported to Uefa, instances of potentially incomplete financial reporting under the club’s previous ownership.”

In a response, Chelsea said they “fully co-operated and assisted Uefa” in their investigations and “entered into a settlement agreement” with the governing body.

“In accordance with the club’s ownership group’s core principles of full compliance and transparency with its regulators, we are grateful that this case has been concluded by proactive disclosure of information to Uefa and a settlement that fully resolves the reported matters,” said the Premier League club.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) must now notify Uefa of which club will replace Juve in the third-tier European competition. It is likely to be Fiorentina, who were beaten by West Ham in last year’s final, after they finished eighth in Serie A.

The case against Juventus follows a 718,000 euro (£620,000) fine as part of a settlement agreement with Italian football authorities over a case concerning payment of player salaries.

Juventus had also been docked 10 Serie A points last season following a hearing into the club’s past transfer dealings.

They were initially handed a 15-point penalty in January but Italy’s highest sporting court overturned that decision in April and ordered the case to be re-examined.

They would have finished fourth and qualified for next season’s Champions League had they not been sanctioned.

In response to the charge, Juventus said they accept Uefa’s decision and will not be lodging an appeal.

Club president Gianluca Ferrero said: “We regret the decision of the Uefa. We do not share the interpretation that has been given of our defence, and we remain firmly convinced of the legitimacy of our actions and the validity of our arguments.

“However, we have decided not to appeal this judgment.

“Lodging an appeal, possibly to other levels of judgement, with uncertain outcomes and timing, would increase the uncertainty with respect to our eventual participation in the 2024/25 Uefa Champions League.”

While they continue to argue their case, Juventus’ decision not to appeal against this punishment means it should be the final blow inflicted on the club for trying to manipulate financial rules to cover huge losses and allow them to buy more players.

In addition to May’s 10-point deduction, key officials, including former vice-chair Pavel Nedved and sporting director Fabio Paratici, who subsequently moved to Tottenham, were fined by FIGC.

Now Uefa has had its say.

Juventus have activated a major management overhaul since these issues surfaced. They have also signalled an intention to leave the European Super League project, which former chairman Andrea Agnelli was such a believer in.

It does mean they miss out on European football for the first time since 2011-12, although given they won the title instead that season, the first of nine in a row, they may hope it is an omen.

Another transfer window and yet more news about Kylian Mbappe.

The Frenchman has long been linked with a move away from PSG. Now, the French club appear more likely than ever to sell after leaving him out of their pre-season tour.

Premier League sides Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been linked so the race is now on to secure his services. Real Madrid still appear to be the front-runners at this stage.

Sticking in England, it appears that clubs in the top-flight are not ready to stop their big spending quite yet. Andre Onana became Man Utd’s second summer signing after Mason Mount, who arrived from Chelsea earlier in the window, and he could be joined by Rasmus Hojlund.

Speaking of Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino is still pushing to sign Moises Caicedo. Brighton want around £100m for the 21-year-old.

Elsewhere, Liverpool could lose their captain after accepting a £12m transfer bid from Saudi side Al-Ettifaq for Jordan Henderson. The England international, 33, has been offered a three-year £700,000-a-week deal by Steven Gerrard’s team.

Finally, Arsenal still want to add more new faces to their squad despite their record-breaking spend so far.

De Zerbi makes Caicedo admission

Chelsea might be on red alert for Moises Caicedo after being told that a swap might tempt Brighton into selling their star midfielder.

Speaking in the United States, where his team is participating in the Premier League Summer Series, he said: “There are two questions. Not only about Caicedo, also about Colwill, and maybe it can be [a swap].

“I would like to play with Caicedo and Colwill together but at the moment I can only speak about Caicedo as Colwill is not one of my players.”

Igor confirms Premier League move

Fiorentina defender Igor has confirmed that he is on the way to the Premier League with a move to Brighton.

He said: “I’ll miss Florence and Fiorentina, this club is special. Thanks to all Fiorentina fans”.

The Seagulls are reportedly closing in on a £15m deal for the Brazilian.

Arteta tight-lipped on Mbappe deal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has remained typically secretive about a potential swoop for PSG star Kylian Mbappe.

Asked about a swoop for the Frenchman, he said: “You know I never talk about players that don’t play for our club. I’m sorry.”

Mbappe has been put up for sale by PSG and will not be going on their pre-season tour.

PSG put Mbappe up for sale

In case you missed the HUGE news, it appears that French giants PSG have put star forward Kylian Mbappe up for sale.

He has been excluded from the club’s pre-season tour of Japan amid speculation linking him with a summer transfer.

Good morning!

Welcome along to Mirror Football’s live transfer blog on Saturday. Let’s get started with a look at the latest transfer news and rumours doing the rounds this weekend.

Mbappe left out of PSG squad

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has been excluded from the club’s pre-season tour of Japan amid speculation linking him with a summer transfer.

Mbappe’s long-term future at the French giants is currently in doubt due to his reluctance to sign a new contract, meaning he would be free to leave the club for nothing next summer.

A number of clubs, including Real Madrid, have since been tipped to make a move for Mbappe, although he has insisted that he plans to stay in Paris for one more year.

It remains to be seen, though, if his stance will change after PSG confirmed that the striker was not part of the squad that will travel to Japan this weekend ahead of the new Ligue 1 campaign.

Ten Hag on Maguire’s future

Erik ten Hag has reiterated Harry Maguire’s importance to Manchester United and is hoping the England international will remain at Old Trafford this summer.

Maguire’s future has come under further scrutiny this week after he was axed from his role as club captain, with United confirming on Thursday that Bruno Fernandes had taken that position. Maguire has also not been included in Ten Hag’s five-man ‘leadership group’ ahead of the new campaign.

Despite this, Ten Hag is eager to keep Maguire at the Red Devils and have four centre-backs going into the 2023/24 season. Speaking on the club’s pre-season tour in the United States, Ten Hag hailed Maguire as an “important” player and admitted he is “pleased” to still have him at the club.

“I think everyone can understand that for a player it’s a disappointment but it can work out very good for the team and for Harry,” he said. “He’s an important player, we need four centre-backs minimum you have seen last season we play so many games and we are really pleased to have Harry in our squad.”

Erik ten Hag is hoping to keep Harry Maguire at Manchester United

Al-Nassr to sign Telles

Al-Nassr have all but completed the signing of Manchester United’s Alex Telles, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Telles completed the ‘main’ part of the club’s medicals on Friday and is expected to be confirmed as an Al-Nassr player in the coming days.

Ten Hag issues Greenwood update

Erik ten Hag has once again made it clear that the Manchester United hierarchy will have the final say over whether or not Mason Greenwood has a future at the club, rather than him.

Greenwood, 21, has not played for United since January 2022 and is currently the subject of an internal club investigation. The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all criminal charges against Greenwood – one count of attempted rape, one count of controlling and coercive behaviour and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm – back in February.

When he was questioned over Greenwood’s potential return to the team, he insisted the decision would be made by club executives, although he has shared his views. He said: “It’s a club decision. Of course, I have said my ideas and opinions but it’s a club decision. We all have to accept that.”

Brighton agree Igor deal

Brighton have agreed a deal in principle to sign Igor from Fiorentina, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Brazilian is expected to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of joining for £14.7m plus add-ons, with Igor penning a four-year contract.

Villa set to sign Diaby

Aston Villa is set to sign a five-year deal at Aston Villa as they close in on making him their club record signing.

Villa have agreed to pay around £43m plus add-ones to land the France international

Diaby, 24, had been identified as a leading summer target by Villa boss Unai Emery – and they have had to fight off stiff competition from Al Nassr.

The mega-rich Saudi club rivalled Villa with a huge bid of their own for Diaby – but he has opted to say yes to move to the Premier League.

Chelsea confirm Aubameyang departure

Marseille have signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Chelsea.

Aubameyang, 33, has joined the Ligue 1 side following a year long spell at Stamford Bridge.

Leicester close in on Mavididi

Leicester are closing in on a move to sign Stephy Mavididi from Montpellier.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Foxes are in advanced negotiations over signing the 25-year-old, with personal terms on the verge of being agreed.

Reading sign Wing

Reading have confirmed the signing of Lewis Wing.

The ex-Middlesbrough and Wycombe midfielder has signed a three-year contract with the Royals after beating competition from the likes of QPR.

Osimhen contract talks stall

Talks between Napoli and Victor Osimhen over a new contract has slowed due to a dispute over a release clause, according to Sky Italy.

The Nigerian international, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United, wants a release clause in the region of £104m, while Napoli are pushing for around £173m.

• Victor Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli

Ayr sign McGeady

Scottish side Ayr United have confirmed the arrival of former Premier League star Aiden McGeady.

McGeady was a free agent after leaving Hibernian last month.

Alongside his playing duties, the winger has also taken up the role of technical director.

West Ham eye Arsenal-linked Wahi

Elye Wahi has emerged as a target for West Ham after earlier attracting Arsenal interest.

That’s according to 90min, who suggest the French frontman could replace Michail Antonio if the Jamaica star moves to Saudi Arabia.

Wahi, who scored 19 times in Ligue 1 last term, has also reportedly held talks over a Chelsea move.

Forest make Elanga breakthrough

Nottingham Forest are on the verge of sealing a transfer for Man Utd ace Anthony Elanga.

As per MailSport, Steve Cooper’s side beat off the likes of Everton and West Ham to land the Sweden international’s signature for a fee of £15m.

• Anthony Elanga has rejected a move to Everton

United U-turn on Henderson

Manchester United are expected to change their stance on Dean Henderson’s exit from the club as interest from Nottingham Forest continues to linger.

Initially, the Red Devils were expected to only sanction the goalkeeper’s departure if Forest were to pay a transfer fee and take the England international on a permanent basis. Henderson has flown out to the USA with the rest of the United squad for their pre-season tour, but could soon jet back as Steve Cooper’s side have submitted a proposal to take the ‘keeper on loan.

He spent last term at the City Ground on a season-long loan but saw his campaign cut short with injury. The Manchester Evening News has outlined that Forest approached United over a deal that would see Henderson move on loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent if he made a certain number of appearances next season.

ICYMI – Sadio Mane gets Saudi transfer boost as terms agreed

Sadio Mane has agreed personal terms with Al-Nassr – with the Saudi club’s transfer embargo due to be lifted shortly.

The Senegal international, 31, is poised to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after a difficult campaign at Bayern Munich. Mane joined the Germans from Liverpool a year ago but has struggled to make an impression in Bavaria, scoring just seven Bundesliga goals.

It’s believed Bayern are willing to let Mane leave the club – and he’s keen on a move to Saudi Arabia. Al-Nassr still need to agree a transfer fee with Bayern for the Ballon d’Or runner-up, but that isn’t expected to be a problem due to the club’s huge wealth.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, are the majority owners of Al-Nassr. If Mane completes the proposed transfer, he will get the chance to play alongside Ronaldo after their private meeting earlier this year.

Al Ahli still eyeing Partey

Thomas Partey remains a target for Al Ahli, according to The Mail.

The Ghanaian could join Roberto Firmino and Edouard Mendy at the Saudi club, while Riyad Mahrez is also nearing a move.

Partey has joined up with Arsenal’s squad in the US, and could be in line to feature in the club’s remaining friendlies if no exit is agreed.

Ten Hag heaps praise on Onana

Erik ten Hag has hailed the signing of Andre Onana.

“Nowadays, football demands good playing from the back, out-playing qualities, and that is a quality Andre has. You need both and you need to cover both areas. So yeah, we’re happy, of course,” he told MUTV.

“I think with his physical presence and also with his personality, he is so keen on winning. He’s so, so eager to win trophies and he will help the team and he will help the squad to get to higher levels.”

Maguire latest

Raphael Varane has backed Erik ten Hag’s decision to strip Harry Maguire of the Manchester United captaincy and hand it to Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes was confirmed as the Red Devils’ new permanent skipper on Thursday, with Varane having won the armband in their opening two games of pre-season.

Maguire announced he had been stood down from the role by Ten Hag on Sunday.

The news came as little surprise, with the England international having plummeted down the pecking order last season.

United boss Ten Hag did not tell his squad who would be taking on the armband before his meeting with Maguire.

Klopp discusses future

Jurgen Klopp claims it would be a “great honour” to become the Germany manager – but wants to respect his contract with Liverpool.

Current boss Hansi Flick is in danger of losing his job after winning just half of his 24 games in charge.

Germany were knocked out of last year’s World Cup in Qatar during the group stage and suffered a round-of-16 exit to England at Euro 2020.

Redmond joins Burnley

Nathan Redmond has joined Burnley.

The former Southampton winger, 29, was a free agent after leaving Besiktas earlier this summer.

He said: “I always had aspirations to play again in the Premier League.

“Burnley’s project matches with my ambitions.

“The management team feel like they can enhance my game more and see the value I can bring on and off the field.

“It feels like a perfect match.”

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany added: “Nathan brings a wealth of experience from playing in the Premier League and more recently from his time in Turkey where he’s been outstanding.

“We’re looking forward to playing a big part in his next chapter.

“He’s got a great work ethic, plenty of skill and a willingness to continue learning.

“He also brings his personality and character to this football club which will benefit the younger players here.”

De Gea rejects Inter switch

David de Gea has turned down the chance to replace Andre Onana at Inter Milan.

Ironically, Onana has succeeded De Gea as Erik ten Hag’s first-choice goalkeeper after completing a £47.2million transfer to Manchester United.

The Cameroon international, 27, has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option of a further 12 months.

It’s believed Inter have responded to Onana’s exit by making De Gea an offer, but the Spaniard wants to return to his homeland.

The 32-year-old hasn’t played in LaLiga since completing a transfer from Atletico Madrid to United 12 years ago.

Amrabat transfer latest

Fiorentina have rubbished reports they have received an official bid from Manchester United for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat, who came through at Utrecht when Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag was in charge, has been linked with a reunion with his former manager.

United aren’t the only Premier League club linked with the Serie A star, though.

Liverpool are also in the mix for the 26-year-old as they look for reinforcements amid the loss of several midfielders themselves.

Jordan Henderson and Fabinho both look destined for the Saudi Pro League, following the departures of others including James Milner, but Fiorentina are yet to receive a concrete bid for Amrabat.

Khadra leaving Brighton

Brighton winger Reda Khadra has joined French side Reims for an undisclosed fee.

Brighton’s technical director David Weir said: “This is great move for all parties, but most of all Reda as it gives him the opportunity of regular football.

“We would like to thank him for his time here with us and wish him well for the future.”

Mane heading to Saudi Arabia

Hojlund to Man Utd update

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has conceded that Rasmus Hojlund is likely to leave for Manchester United.

The striker has attracted the eye of Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag after he was priced out of a move for top target Harry Kane.
